1. Provider and scope
Visual Memory Assistant is provided by Massimo Modena, Via del Calicanto 3, Vacallo, Switzerland, and published under the developer name BossMask. Contact: support@bossmask.ch.
These terms govern use of the app. By installing or using it, you acknowledge them. The terms of the store from which you obtained the app also apply. Where the law requires parental or guardian authorization, use is permitted only with that authorization.
2. License and content
BossMask grants a personal, limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, and revocable license to use the app on devices permitted by the store and applicable law. You do not acquire ownership of the software or a right to sell, sublicense, bypass protections, or use it for unlawful activity, except where mandatory law permits.
You retain rights in content you enter. You are responsible for its accuracy and for having the right to collect, store, photograph, or share it, especially where it concerns another person.
3. Local operation, security, and backups
The app operates without a BossMask account, cloud, or server. Data is kept locally and BossMask cannot recover it remotely. Encryption and optional app lock reduce risk but cannot guarantee absolute protection on compromised, outdated, or already unlocked devices.
Backups are manual and protected by the password you choose. Neither the app nor BossMask stores or recovers that password. Restore is allowed only on an empty archive and does not merge two archives. You must protect the file and password; without a usable backup, uninstalling the app or losing, resetting, or damaging the phone can cause permanent loss.
When sharing content or opening an external app, check the recipient and information sent. A copy handed to a third party is no longer protected by the app's encrypted container.
4. Informational features and important notices
Recognition and dictation
OCR, code recognition, and dictation provide suggestions and may misread text, names, amounts, dates, or dosages. Check every result before saving or relying on it. The app does not authenticate documents and does not replace the original.
Reminders, medications, and timers
Notifications and sounds depend on the operating system, permissions, volume, power management, and device settings. They may be late or fail. Medication and treatment features are personal reminders: they do not verify prescriptions, dosages, interactions, or intake and do not replace a doctor, pharmacist, packaging, or treatment plan. Do not use the app as the only system for treatment, emergencies, or situations where a missed alert could cause harm.
Menstrual cycle
Future dates are local estimates and may differ from the actual cycle. The feature is not a medical device, diagnosis, fertility assessment, or contraceptive method and must not be the sole basis for medical or reproductive decisions.
Budgets and expenses
Budget, saving, and expense-sharing calculations are organizational tools based on data entered. They are not financial, tax, or accounting advice and must be checked before payments or settlements between people.
5. Purchases, free trials, and subscriptions
Visual Memory Assistant offers VMA Premium as a monthly or yearly auto-renewable subscription. Eligible users can try it free for two months. Before confirmation, Apple App Store or Google Play displays the localized price, duration, first charge date, and renewal terms. The offer displayed and confirmed by the store is the applicable offer.
If you do not cancel before the trial ends, the selected plan is charged and renews automatically through the store. If you cancel during the trial, access continues until the trial expires and the first paid renewal is not charged. Management, cancellation, trial eligibility, and refunds follow store rules. The app provides an easy route to subscription management and purchase restoration.
Subscription expiry does not delete the local archive. Viewing, search, encrypted backup, export, and deletion remain available; creating or editing content may require an active subscription. Already scheduled essential medication reminders are not abruptly interrupted.
6. Updates, warranties, and liability
Operation depends on the Android or iOS version and device capabilities. Updates may fix errors, improve security, or modify features. Software, graphics, and content supplied with the app belong to their respective owners; open-source components remain subject to their licenses.
The app is supplied with warranties required by applicable law. Nothing excludes rights or liability that cannot legally be limited, including mandatory consumer protection. To the extent permitted, BossMask is not responsible for consequences caused solely by incorrect user input, unchecked results, device-blocked notifications, or device loss outside its control.
7. Ending use, governing law, and contact
You may stop using and uninstall the app at any time. Uninstallation normally removes local data and may make it unrecoverable. The current version has no BossMask account to close.
These terms are governed by Swiss law, without affecting mandatory consumer rights in the user's country of residence. Before starting a dispute, contact support@bossmask.ch so we can seek a solution.
Material changes will be communicated as required by law and store rules. The date above identifies the current version.
